Ilayathapathy's achievement in 2008

Actor Vijay,fondly known as Ilayathalapathy by his fans all across the globe,has something to cheer this year.Yes.He has been honored by being the brand ambassador of Chennai Superkings and his team marched towards the finals and ended up getting the runners trophy.This mutually benefited both Vijay and the team.For the team,Vijay catered lot of non cricket fans.Many people started following IPL just for one brand name named VIJAY.For the latter, it was all about his popularity getting raised in North India.Yes.He became very famous outside South.Its a known fact that he has a very good support in Tamilnadu,Kerala and Karnataka.His movies stunning opening collections is a testimony for that fact.Now , with IPL , he became popular in the other parts of India too.Many people started recognizing him after IPL, especially seeing the way in which CSK(Chennai SuperKings)marched towards the finals.

Then comes his presence during the audio launch of Dasavatharam.Excluding the team's star cast,top celebrities from India were supposed to be invited in that event.Vijay was one among the list.He had an opportunity to share his presence with Legendary action hero Jackie Chan.This is definitely a honor for Vijay.Moreover,Vijay when spoke in that event,said that Dasavatharam will be a Blockbuster of this year for sure.As his speech portrayed,the movie became not only a blockbuster,but also one of the biggest South Indian hits.What a coincidence.

Then its the Lyola college survey which portrayed Vijay has the biggest star in Tamilnadu next only to MGR and Sivaji.He was even leading the Superstar Rajnikanth in that rating.Lyola college's survey is always considered as a reputed survey as they are known for predicting the Tamilnadu's election results correctly.Thus,Vijay's name ahead of Rajnikanth in this survey is definitely an applaudable thing for him.

Last but not the least comes his film KURUVI.One might wonder whats so special about this film.Though its just a moderate hit,it collected more that 36 odd crores,considering the fact that the movie was sold more than 36 crores and its definitely a profitable venture though not a blockbuster.The moderate success of Kuruvi was achieved in spited of the entire Tamil media betraying the film as it was not up to the expected mark.This happened for Superstar with regard to his movies like Sivaji and Chandramuki though both the movies emerged as winners later.Now Vijay,next only to Superstar has proved that he can carry out a film single handedly and make it a hit at Box office, if not a blockbuster.

• To make the above facts even more stronger,the producer of the film,Mr.Udhayanidi stalin has reportedly planned to celebrate the glory of Kuruvi in Park Sherton hotel and K.Balachandar will be the chief guest presenting the trophy for the crew portraying the success of the film.

These facts clearly prove that Kuruvi, though not a blockbuster like Gilli , is a hit for sure.Now , Ilayathapathy's Villu is under progress.Wish him a very good success for his forthcoming Villu and hope it does better than Kuruvi.All the best Thalapathy.March a head.
